Rapeseed

Rapeseed is the most cultivated oilseed in the CEE region. During last years there is an increase of importance of this plant to farmers, due to its high oil content.

Within the European Union 78% of rapeseed oil is used to produce biodiesel. A byproduct of the production process is rapeseed meal. Rapeseed is the most interesting commercial crop in the CEE region. In the last 40 years it has gone through immense changes in cultivating technologies and in the breeding process. The arrival of various hybrid seeds has fulfilled the expectations of farmers. Intensive agro-technology and corresponding crop protection enable them to achieve above-average income with a high quality product.
