MEROCO, a.s. is a complex supplier of biofuels, producing Fatty Acid Methyl Esther (FAME), also called biodiesel. The production started in 2008. The annual production volume presents 120.000 tons per year. The byproduct of biodiesel production is crude glycerin, which is used as valuable animal feed and is also an important raw material in chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical and building industries. Lecithin sludge is another byproduct, which is created in the process of degumming of unprocessed vegetable oil. Due to its high biogas potential it is used in biogas stations.
